Days 197-203: The final week of my summer trip

Ja niin vaan tämäkin reissu ja reissublogi lähestyvät loppua. Palataan vielä viimesen Hollannin viikon tunnelmiin!

Sad but true, this trip and this traveling blog are getting closer and closer to the end.. But before saying goodbye, let's get back to the last week in Holland!

Viimesen viikon aikana tehtiin kaikennäköstä. Korjattiin (lue: pojat korjas ja ite pelasin pelejä R:n puhelimella) Ginon takapihan aitaa, pelailtiin tennistä, nähtiin kavereita, käytiin rannalla... Otettiin ihan rennosti ja fiilisteltiin kesää. 

During the last week we did all kinds of things. We (read: the boys) repaired Gino's backyard's fence that was broken, played tennis, saw friends, went to the beach.. Just chilling and enjoyed the summer.

Viimeinen viikonloppu käynnistettiin Belgian puolella huvipuistossa, Bobbejaanlandissa. Mun ja R:n lisäksi mukana oli Michiel.Alue oli ihan hullun iso ja vaikka oli kuulema hiljanen päivä, oli jonot aika pitkiä. Kivaa oli joka tapauksessa ja laitteita löyty joka lähtöön. Meinas kyllä tulla pupu pöksyyn  osassa laitteista mutta uskalsin käydä kaikissa missä pojatkin!! Ainut huono puoli oli että se tais mennä jo klo18 kiinni mikä oli mun mielestä aika kummallista. Koko päivä siellä vietettiin, mutta olisin voinu vaikka pari tuntia lisääkin siellä hengailla. Täytyy ehkä siis mennä joskus uudestaan! lisää infoa paikasta: http://www.bobbejaanland.be/be

We started the last weekend in Belgium in an attraction park, Bobbejaanland with R and Michiel. The area was HUGE and even though it was not that busy (I heard) the lines were pretty long. Anyway, it was a lot of fun and you could find all different kinds of attractions there. I was pretty scared before a few of them but in the end I had the courage to go to all the same attractions as the boys 8) The only bad thing about the park was that it closed at 18.00 already which I find a bit weird. We spent the whole day there but I could've stayed for a few more hours too.. Probably have to go again some time:) more info: http://www.bobbejaanland.be/be

Angry birds!!

Vielä ennen lähtöä ehin napata tämmösen mukaan, suklaalla päällystettyjä kirsikoita. NAm.

11.8. sunnuntaina oli viimenen päivä Hollannissa. Aika haikeissa fiiliksissä oltiin, mutta toisaalta olin ihan innoissani tulossa kotiinkin. Illalla käytiin vielä Kermiksessä, eli paikallinen kiertävä tivoli. R: voitti mulle pienen nallenkin... :P Muuten päivä menikin pakkaillessa ja rauhassa kotosalla. 

11.8. Sunday was the last day in Holland. I was pretty sad, but at the same time excited to go back home. In the evening we visited "Kermis", a local fun fair and R won a little Ted for me haha. Otherwise the day was spent packing and chilling at home.

12.8. aamulla lähdettiin Rn ja Ginon kanssa kohti Amsterdamia, ja oli aika sanoa heipat Hollannille, mutta samalla koko kevään mittaiselle seikkailulle. Vaihtolukukausi, InterRail, melkein kuukausi Hollannissa.. Aikamoista. Onneksi ei tarvinnut tulla yksin kotiin, vaan R ja Gino tuli vielä lomailemaan Helsinkiin, Gino viikoksi ja R kahdeksi. Nyt on aika myös lopettaa tämä blogi (vihdoin ja viimein). Kiitos kaikille jotka olette jaksaneet lukea ja olleet matkassa mukana, palaamme asiaan toivottavasti pian;)

12.8. in the morning me, R and Gino headed to Amsterdam and it was time to say goodbye to Holland, but also to the whole experience that I had during this half a year. Student exchange, InterRail, a month in Holland.. Incredible. I was happy that I didn't have to go home alone, but with the boys. Gino came to Helsinki for one week holiday and Ramon for two weeks. Now FINALLY it is time to end this blog. I want to thank all of you who have been reading my posts and stayed with me during this trip. I will be back, sooner or later;)

Days 195&196: Bday party and mini golf

Breskensin jälkeisenä päivänä vietettiin Ginon syntymäpäiviä. Hollannissa synttärit on mun käsityksen mukaan aika iso juttu, ja on lähes rikos jos ei pidä juhlia. Näinpä siis oltiin porukalla all you can eat -sushipaikassa syömässä. Ruoka oli ihan hullun hyvää ja valikoima oli valtava. Hinta tais olla jotain 20€, ja sai siis syödä niin paljon kun vaan jaksoi. Kuvia tuolta synttäreiltä ei valitettavasti ole, paitsi yksi kämänen kuva puoliks syödystä sushilautasesta. Hyvä minä. 

The day after Breskens was Gino's birthday. In Holland birthdays are a quite big thing (at least that's how I see it) and it is almost a crime if you don't celebrate it with your family&friends. So, we went to a all you can eat sushi restaurant to celebrate Gino getting older:) The food was really, really good and there were so many things on the menu that you couldn't try them all. The price was something around 20€ and you could really eat just as much as you wanted. I don't have any pictures from the party, except one crappy picture of a half eaten sushi plate. Good job, Aino.

Maanantai 5.8. oli vuorossa kauan odotettu minigolf! :D R:n kodin ihan lähellä on minigolf paikka minne siis mun kinuamisen jälkeen suunnattiin. Kuumana maanantaipäivänä kentillä ei ollut ketään muita kun me, joten vedettiin samantien kaks kierrosta. Hävisin tietysti kummatkin mutta ei se mua haitannu :D Kierroksen jälkeen käytiin vielä jätskillä ennen kun mentiin kotiin syömään. Livin' the good life 8)

Monday 5th of August was the day that I had been waiting for: Mini golf day! :D There is a nice mini golf place very near to R's home and that's where we headed after days of me talking about it. It was a very hot Monday afternoon and we were the only ones at the court so we played two rounds straight. Obviously I lost both rounds but that didn't bother me :P Afterwards we went for an ice cream before going for dinner at home. Livin' the good life 8)

Day 194: Fishers' party

Elokuun ensimmäisenä lauantaina suuntasimme Breskensiin kalastajajuhlille. Nämä juhlat järjestetään kerran vuodessa ja hollantilaisesn tyyliin juhliin kuuluu paljon koristeita, huvipuistolaitteita, musiikkia ja paljon olutta. Matka taittui junalla ja lautalla, mentiin siis "toiselle puolelle merta". Zeelandin provinssihan siis koostuu monista pienistä saarista jotka on yhdistetty toisiinsa silloilla ja tunneleilla. Reissuporukkaan kuului meidän lisäksi Jasper, Michiel, Guus, Flora ja Xander. Guusilla oli myös synttärit samaan aikaan, ja Flora (tyttöystävä) oli yllätykseksi Guusille kutsunut meidät viettämään päivää heidän kanssa. 

The first Saturday of August we spent in Breskens at a fishermen's party. This party is arranged once a year and with Dutch style: a lot of decorations, roller coasters, music and a lot of beer. We went "to the other side of the sea" with a train and a ferry. The province of Zeeland consists of little islands that are connected to each other by bridges and tunnels. Our party gang this time was me&R, Jasper, Michiel, Guus, Flora and Xander. Guus had his birthday at the same time and Flora (girlfriend) had invited all of us to celebrate with them as a surprise to Guus.

Mentiin mestoille joskus iltapäivästä ja oltiin ihan iltaan asti. Ei oikeestaan tehty mitään sen ihmeellisempää, kierreltiin aluetta, juotiin kaljaa, pelattiin joitain pelejä ja semmosta. Alueella jaettiin myös ilmaseks paistettua kalaa, eli kaikkia lajikkeita jotka on liian "halpoja" myytäväksi. Paikalla oli myös paljon muita ruokakojuja (frikandelit yms, pizzaa, burgereita...) ja myyntikojuja mistä sai ostaa koruja ja muuta krääsää. Kaiken kaikkiaan oli tosi hauska päivä. Ihana ilma, hyvä porukka ja taas sain nähdä yhdet hollantilaiset juhlat lisää. Illalla sitten juosten viimeseen lauttaan ettei jäädä saarelle yöksi, junalla Goesiin ja kävästiin vielä pubissakin, mutta eihän siellä enää kauaa jaksanu olla.. :)

We went to Breskens in the afternoon and stayed until the evening. We didn't do anything special, walking around, drinkind beer, playing games and so on. They gave fried fish for free there, because the fish is "too cheap to be sold". One could also find all kinds of food there starting from frikandel til burgers. Also many people were selling jewelry and other stuff on the streets. All in all it was a great day. Wonderful weather, nice people and again a new Dutch party for me haha. Late in the evening we had to run to the last ferry so that we wouldn't be trapped on the island for the night. Train to Goes and straight to a pub, where we didn't stay long... :)

Illan hittipeli, kamelikisa eli sama homma kun esim. Lintsin Derby, mutta kameleilla :D
